Want to have a good laugh? Go ahead! (Part I)

Ciao!
It’s the exam season here in India, and everyone in grades 10 and 12 is super tense about their board exams. Feverishly studying through the night, reciting chemistry formulae while eating, having nightmares whenever they do sleep… it’s a tale of horror.

In these dark times, we need a bit of happiness, a little relaxation. Unrestrained laughter really is the best medicine right now. Also, laughing is one of my hobbies. Which is why I would like to present to you…

Books by David Walliams- some of the most ridiculously funny books I’ve ever read!

Warning: Spoilers ahead.

1. Demon Dentist

“And none of you can stop me,” the dentist continued. “You must kneel down before me. For I am the Tooth Witch!”

Alfie hates going to the dentist. His teeth are a picture of horror: cavities, broken teeth, brown teeth… ugh. His hate intensifies even more when he hears the rumours going around town.
Children put a tooth under their pillow, hoping for a shiny new coin, but in the morning, they would wake up to find: a dead slug; a live spider; hundreds of earwigs creeping and crawling beneath their pillow. Darkness is at work. But who or what is behind it?

2. Bad Dad

“Would a bad dad want to make sure his son didn’t have to go to school in shoes that were falling apart?”

Frank loves his Dad. His dad is a very, very good dad. Until he isn’t. Frank finds out that his dad has been stealing money for a living, under the evil crime boss, Mr. Big. When they get caught and Frank’s dad gets sent to prison, what will Frank do? Will he be able to rescue his dad without Mr. Big finding out?

3. Grandpa’s Great Escape

“I’d rather die up here a hero, than yield and live like a slave on the ground.”

Jack loves his Grandpa more than anybody else. Grandpa tells him stories about his time as a pilot in World War II, flying his Spitfire. All is well, until Grandpa starts forgetting things. It’s only little things at first, and then more important ones… like the fact that he is not a pilot anymore.
Jack’s parents decide to put him an an old people’s home, but Jack can’t ignore the fact that there is something fishy about that place. What will Jack do to rescue his grandpa? Will he succeed?

That’s all for today! Have you read any of these hilarious books? Which one is your favourite? Who’s your favourite character? Let me know!
